Raising GP awareness in Liverpool

#TeamIronOverload travelled to Liverpool in early October to exhibit at the Royal College of GPs conference to raise awareness of GH. We even had GH cupcakes (which didn't last long!).

We had loads of great conversations with GPs - several key themes emerged :

• difficulties making referrals for genetic testing
• long waiting lists for consultant appts, often resulting in rejected referrals
• lack of awareness of GH blood donor service options
• growing awareness of how common GH is in UK
• thumbs up for HUK's free GP eLearning module & webinars

The winner of the RCGPAC prize draw was Dr Katy Chisenga-Phillipps, GP Registrar from Sussex (pictured below with HUK CEO Neil McClements).

Promoting Best Practice at Nursing Live

At the end of October, we returned to Liverpool for Nursing Live. This was a massively busy event, with a packed-out presentation by Diogo Gomes (HUK ANP). Hundreds of eager nurses and allied healthcare professionals visited our stand over two days. It was simply manic, in a nice way!
