What are we up to during International Awareness Week? The 1st -7th June 2026 is World Haemochromatosis Awareness Week! Here are just some of the ways we will be spreading the word across the UK: Genetic Test Kit Price Reduction For one week only, we will be reducing the price of our HFE Genetic Testing Kits from £129 to just £95! Early diagnosis saves lives, so we felt this was something incredibly important, particularly during Awareness Week. GP Packs We have been busy mailing Information Packs to GP practices based in the charity's Priority Areas, such as the Hebrides, Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and Birmingham. Iron League Join the #IronLeague! We hear all too often about about the trials and tribulations caused by genetic haemochromatosis, but this Haemochromatosis Awareness Week, we want to hear about your strengths! Whether you are keen crocheter, a super soprano or a happy hiker - we want to see exactly what you're made of! Show us your strength by tagging us in a photo on social media, using #IronLeague, and the phrase "I have haemochromatosis and..." We can't wait to see what you get up to! We will also be popping up at events up and down the UK! Our Calendar Monday 1st June On Monday 1st, we will be speaking with blood donation services from across the UK to explore how we can work together to encourage more people affected by haemochromatosis to become blood donors. We hope to increase awareness and make blood donation more accessible for those who are eligible Tuesday 2nd June We will be attending the Ulster Hospital in Northern Ireland, where our 'Overloaded' Photography Exhibition is currently exhibiting. Wednesday 3rd June Haemochromatosis UK will be in Birmingham, along with some of our Volunteers for a day of education, collaboration and celebration! We will also be launching our Pass it On Families Packs. Thursday 4th June Our focus turns to Wales, when we will be sharing the work of poet, author and artist, Evrah Rose & Filmage Productions who have been busy working hard on our 'Overloaded but not Overlooked' project. We will be sharing Chris' story, from his initial symptoms, to diagnosis, treatment, and life today. Friday 5th June On Friday, we will be holding an Iron Brew at the Old Ironworks - the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Heritage, just outside of Glasgow, Scotland. How will you be raising awareness this week? We'd love to hear from you! Contact [email protected]. Manage Cookie Preferences
