Rare Diseases Awareness Raising in Surrey On Friday 28th Feb Haemochromatosis UK nurse Vik, went to the Royal Holloway University in Surrey to raise awareness of rare diseases. The day is aimed at introducing GCSE & A-level students to rare diseases, to inspire them to consider a career in this area of science, medicine and genetics. “the enthusiasm shown by these young students gives me such a lift. Sharing the view that early diagnosis saves lives and explaining how people with GH can be blood donors, for example, can really captivate their interest and understanding” Vik https://www.haemochromatosis.org.uk/News/join-us-in-celebrating-rare-disease-day We are thankful for the support of The National Lottery Community Fund in England which enables us to engage in a wide range of family support activity.
